SEEKING SAFETY, Mishka Project for World Refugee Day 2022. Perempuan Pengungsi Berdaya

The mission of providing space for actualization for women refugees is the mission of modest wear Fashion Makaila Haifa through its non-profit activity called "Miskha Project". Miskha Project in collaboration with UNHCR & the #WEGOTYOURBACK_ID community wants to provide a space for actualization for the creativity of refugee women living in Indonesia, because they are individuals with various skills.

While in Indonesia they lived on very limited aid & without certainty of its continuation. This assistance also may not necessarily provide meaning to their existence as human beings. For this reason, it is important for them to carry out self-actualization, even though they live with various restrictions.

Their actualization can be channeled if there is involvement of community groups. The involvement of community groups - civil and private organizations, with refugees is not enough to involve themselves by providing material assistance alone. But the most important thing is space.

Like Nazanin Jan Ali, a women refugee from Afghanistan, who is fluent in English. She dedicated his expertise by becoming a teacher for refugee children and adults. Then, Freshteh Jafari from Afghanistan who creates paintings using watercolor & acrylic as a hobby and source of income as a single parent. There is also Marofa who also comes from Afghanistan and works on aromatherapy candles. Finally, there is Maryam, also from Afghanistan, who makes ceramic works of art from clay.

These creative women refugees will be presented on World Refugee Remembrance Day, along with around...(how many refugee women and children), from (any country). In this event, they will tell about their experiences and dreams.

The Miskha Project was built by Hida who was inspired by the struggle, courage and resilience of women refugees in facing basic problems in women's lives such as discrimination and violence.

The Miskha Project's mission is to be part of the world community to provide space for actualization for women refugees. And the invitees who attend the event will take part in the auction and purchase products, the proceeds of which will be donated to the refugees.
